Medical School Interview Questions - Best Interview Question Within The World

Interviews generally aim at evaluating qualities that academic credentials alone would not disclose.  Vital to preparing for the Medical School Interview is understanding why you are asked certain questions.  Dr. Brett Ferdinand, having sat on the admissions committee of 2 different medical schools, explains the mindset behind such an intense experience in his Gold Standard Medical School Interview DVD .

One-on-one interviews, group or panel interviews and the multi-mini interview format (MMI) share similar principles regarding attire, attitude, strategy and content.  The Gold Standard Medical School Interview DVD provides an analysis of the questions and answers tackled during a live simulated interview with a volunteer in an open forum format with a group of premedical students.  Important Medical School Interview Tips and other bonus features are also included in the DVD. Whether you are interviewing in the UK or Ireland, the US or Canada, you will find the advice and techniques demonstrated in this video to be extremely relevant and helpful.

Getting an invitation for a medical school interview means two things:  you have impressed the admissions committee with your GPA and standardized test results (MCAT/GAMSAT/UKCAT/BMAT/UMAT/HPAT) along with other high rankers; and now, you are given an opportunity to exhibit your personal attributes that will convince the panel why you should be given preference above other applicants.  If you are unsure that you can express yourself and impart your thoughts in a way that will leave a notable impression to the interviewers, then the Gold Standard Medical School Interview DVD is a must-see video.

GAMSAT - Medical Success Is The Main Aim

I know that it would be hard to believe, but there was once a time that minor surgery was performed by barbers! Then the time came that if you wanted to be a doctor, all you needed was enough money or you needed to know someone that was willing to take you as an apprentice.
Well, clearly times have changed. For most medical schools in the English speaking world, first you must demonstrate good grades (GPA) and then you must perform well on a standardized exam (MCAT in the US and Canada; UKCAT, GAMSAT, BMAT in the UK; HPAT and GAMSAT in Ireland; UMAT and GAMSAT in Australia). Some schools require a CV, personal statement or written autobiographical materials. However, the great majority will require the following universally proven requirement that actually correlates to your success as a future physician: the medical school interview.
Some students believe that the interview is simply a time to “Just be myself.”  Though it is true that honesty is the best policy, it does not mean that you should try to fly a plane without having done some research and practice.  Medical school interview questions are available online and there are YouTube videos with clips from interviews and others that have medical school interview tips and advice. As Alexander Graham Bell once said: “Before anything else, preparation is the key to success."

Take your time: confirm that this is the right career choice for you, improve your grades at school, study hard for your standardized test and certainly, prepare carefully for your medical school interview. You can see our Medical school interview details through our video.  If medicine is the right career choice for you, then we wish you the best of luck for admissions!

Medical School Interview Questions - Best For Medical Exam Preparation

Medical School Interview Questions are now available for your success. The questions may be seemingly simple. The answers, however, can be a fantastic exercise in clearly demonstrating your commitment to medicine or they could be vague responses drowning in ambiguity. Within seconds of your first response an impression begins to form. At the end of the interview, usually 20 to 45 minutes long, an evaluation will be written that will have a critical impact on your future. For this reason, a couple of points need to be re-emphasized.
There are always two ways that a question is answered in an interview: one is your manner, the other is your words. Consider your manner. We are ready to solve any problem by our Medical School Interview Questions. Compare one person who speaks in a continuous monotone with few facial expressions while others have multiple inflections when the words leave their lips and begin to smile spontaneously as they describe some aspect of medicine that fascinates them. One student may be viewed as unmotivated while others may seem enthusiastic about medicine.
You can prepare yourself and follow our Medical School Interview Questions. It is also important to remember that an interviewer will more likely recall a specific example rather than some generalized or ambiguous statement that any student might make.

Medical School Interview Questions - Available Question For Success

Medical school interview questions are ready for your success. There are an infinite number of questions and many different categories of questions. Different medical schools will emphasize different categories of questions. Arbitrarily, ten categories of questions can be defined: ambiguous, medically related, academic, social, stress-type, problem situations, personality oriented, based on autobiographical material, miscellaneous, and ending questions. We will examine each category in terms of sample questions and general comments. Some of the questions below are hyperlinked so that you can discuss them in our new Medical school interview questions.
The health-care system, euthanasia, abortion, human cloning and other ethical issues are very popular topics in this era of technological advances, skyrocketing health-care costs, and ethical uncertainty. You should be up-to-date regarding changes in the province where you are being interviewed. All too often the general public is better informed regarding health-care than the medical school applicant! A well-informed opinion can set you apart from most of the other interviewees. The Medical school interview questions provides the best support for it.

GAMSAT - Best Organization For Medical Dreamer

GAMSAT stands for The Graduate Australian Medical School Admissions Test. It evaluates the nature and the extent of students’ skills and abilities gained through prior experience and learning. Such skills and abilities include the mastery and use of concepts in basic science, as well as the acquisition of more general skills in problem solving, critical thinking and writing. If your first degree is in a non-scientific field of study, you can still be eligible for admission to the graduate-entry programmes. A science background is not required. Academic excellence in the humanities and social sciences is encouraged and recognised. However, it must be stressed that success in GAMSAT is unlikely without knowledge and ability in the biological and physical sciences.

Big on concepts, small on memorization: Remember that the GAMSAT will primarily test your understanding of concepts. This examination is not designed to measure your ability to memorize large amounts of scientific facts and trivia. However, both your knowledge and understanding of concepts are critical.

Evidently, some material in this manual must be memorized; for example, a few science equations, rules of logarithms, as well as some algebra, the phases in mitosis and meiosis, and other basic facts. Nonetheless, for the most part, your objective should be to try to understand, rather than memorize the biology, physics and chemistry material that you review. This may appear vague, but as you use practice material, you will gain a better understanding of what is expected of you.

GAMSAT - Best Interactive Method Of Studying

Dr. Ferdinand wrote and edited the first GAMSAT textbook ever. Now, he has made learning and reviewing even easier and personalized like having a tutor with his live GAMSAT courses.  Small group sessions will be given in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.  His quality of teaching comes from 15 years of mentoring and tutoring premed students.
Two days of interactive and stimulating GAMSAT review is available in each of the following courses:

1.  Section 3 (science) Review
Problem-based learning approach; covers the most frequently tested GAMSAT topics in biology, physics, general and organic chemistry.

2.  GS Practice GAMSAT Test with Interactive Review of Solutions
Full length practice exam (Gold Standard GS-5 test) on the first day; review and problem solving analysis with Dr. Ferdinand on the second day.

You can access GAMSAT Courses Australia for the schedule of courses in the following locations:  Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.
Acing the GAMSAT does require 3 things:   time, a focused GAMSAT review, and lots of practice with real and parallel GAMSAT tests.  Not unless you have a comprehensive science background, extensive readings and knowledge in the humanities, and proficient essay-writing skills, you would not need any guidance from an experienced mentor for the GAMSAT!

Finding the right GAMSAT course should then come with the right criteria:
•    Credibility
The resource person should have had a past experience of acing a medical admission test.  Even better, he or she must have had years of experience in conducting quality reviews, teaching and tutoring premed students.
•    Realistic Materials
Several review books have been written that are full of valuable tips and advice.  Remember though, that you are reviewing for an admission test – the GAMSAT, no less!  A GAMSAT book that comes with practice papers that parallel the real test is most important.

GAMSAT - Best Online Prepartion For Medical Exam

The GAMSAT is scored for each of the three sections individually. The sections consisting of multiple choice questions are first scored right or wrong resulting in a raw score. Note that wrong answers are worth the same as unanswered questions so ALWAYS ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS even if you are not sure of certain answers. The raw score is then converted to a scaled score ranging from 0 (lowest) to 100 (highest). Essentially, the scores are scaled to ensure that the same proportion of individual marks within each section are given from year to year (using Item Response Theory). The scaled score is neither a percentage nor a percentile. It is not possible to calculate the GAMSAT scoring system at home.
Section II is marked by three independent markers from each zone. A scale of 10 points is used. Should there be a difference of 5 or more in two scores then an additional marker will be used. Ultimately, the three closest scores are averaged for the Section II raw score which is then converted to a scaled score.
You will receive a score for each of the three sections, together with an Overall GAMSAT Score. The Overall Score is a weighted average of the three component scores.
Standards for interviews or admissions may vary for both Sectional Scores and the Overall GAMSAT Score. For example, one particular medical school may establish a cutoff (minimum) of 50 or 55 for any given Section and 60 for the Overall GAMSAT Score. Contact individual programmes for specific requirements.
The GAMSAT may include a small number of questions which will not be scored. These questions are either used to calibrate the exam or were found to be either too ambiguous or too difficult to be counted or are trial questions which may be used in the future. So if you see a question that you think is off the wall, unanswerable or inappropriate for your level of knowledge, it could well be one of these questions so never panic! And of course, answer every question because guessing provides a 25% chance of being correct while not answering provides a 0% chance of being correct!
